Did you know?

Chelan Fire and Rescue’s Station 71 is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, including all weekends and holidays! This allows us to be able to respond to any call within 2 minutes, no matter the time of day (or night). In between those calls, there is no shortage of work that needs to be done in order to stay operationally ready and keep your fire station in top condition. Many buildings hire outside contracting for maintenance. However, with fiscal responsibility in mind, the duty crew is responsible for daily and weekly upkeep including mowing the lawn, trimming back the trees, keeping the grounds clean, fixing broken sprinkler systems, repainting the building interior, cleaning and vacuuming…the list goes on! Sometimes, if we are lucky, we can incorporate some training along with all the maintenance. Here is one of our newly hired seasonals, FF Preheim, washing down some hard to reach areas on your station’s exterior.
